Hey there!

Sam Hanson has been a Milwaukee-based illustrator and graphic designer since 2017. Her designs have been used for event posters, restaurant menus, staff shirts, merchandise, branding, packaging, signage, t-shirts, stickers and the like. Favored mediums include paper and ink. Sometimes watercolor, gouache, acrylic, Procreate, Adobe Illustrator or InDesign.

In 2020, Sam opened her first e-commerce and pop up shop: Sam Hanson Doodle. She taught herself to screen print in her basement using eco-friendly water-based inks and soft Bella & Canvas shirts. As of 2022, Sam shifted her focus to illustrating and designing.. She sells her sweatshirts, t-shirts, tea towels, totes, pins and prints at markets around Milwaukee and the Midwest.

Sam is originally from Woodstock, IL. and attended Second City of Chicago for sketch writing and improv training program. Sam has been apart of the Milwaukee comedy scene upon moving there in 2016. These creative skills translates into all of her work and lends itself well to brainstorming new ideas.

When not drawing, Sam is a big hiker, thrifter and home cook. She’s a lover of tomatoes, Mark Ruffalo and a real good breeze.
